
Frances has been published in the Science of Mind magazine and enjoys developing curriculum. Frances holds BA and MA degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. She recently completed her doctorate degree in ministry from Wisdom University in San Francisco, California.
Frances sees her personal mission as an emancipator of minds. Her positive energy and vision of a global heart make her deeply committed to community involvement and global outreach. She serves as Treasurer of the Tacoma-Pierce County Sister City Council, as Vice President of the Stadium Business District, as representative to the Cross District Association, and as an activist in her neighborhood organization,the Evergreen Neighbors. She is interested in international diplomacy, promotes programs of non-violence and peace, and was the creator of the Stadium Dickens Festival as an avenue of bringing people together in community.
Prior to coming to Tacoma, she was assistant superintendent for the Austin School District and directed an award winning community involvement project called "Forming the Future" that involved over 20,000 people in restructuring curriculum and passing a $ 210 million bond issue. She has successfully run her own communications business and has directed two non-profit organizations. She directed an award winning partnership program at the Citizens Education Center in Seattle that was based on Howard Gardner's Multiple Intelligences and set up tutoring programs through business-school partnerships in King and Snohomish Counties.
Frances is married to Mario Lorenz, a successful entertainer and owner of Laughter Masters. She has three grown children: a son in San Francisco, a daughter in Seattle, and a daughter in Tacoma. She is blessed with three granddaughters. She enjoys writing, gourmet cooking,creating sculptures, and loves to laugh.


Our ordained minister, Rev. Dr. Frances Lorenz, has served the Center for Spiritual Living in Tacoma for ten years.
